Fear Itself

What happened to the great sc-fi/horror anthology shows like “The Twilight Zone” and “Outer Limits”? Even “Tales from the Darkside” and “Tales from the Crypt” had their moments. This was pretty dull and predictable. They took what was a half-hour story -- at best -- and tried stretching it into an hour.

I feel better now for a minute I thought it was me. Though from what I have read about Fear Itself it seems to be that the producers are the same ones behind Masters Of Horror which was a good show. However, it was broadcasted on Showtime trying to to bring that same type of show to a network especial NBC is a difficult task. Hopefully things will pick up in the next ep...

Love the blog by the way

Thanks. It's possible that some scenes were watered down for network television but I thought the overall story was lacking.

I thought it was okay. I missed about 10 minutes near the end due to a power outtage, so I missed some of it. But I think that was for the best. If nothing else, they did surprise me with the vampire reveal. I wasn't expecting it to be a vampire story.

But I, too, would like to know where are the good anthology horror/sci fi shows. The newer "Outer Limits" was staple viewing for me...sometimes they weren't all that great, but there are some classics in there.

Wish we could form our own production company and put together a decent anthology show! You can't tell me there aren't good short scripts out there worth taping for a tv audience.

Audiences are so fickle these days. I don't know if most would be able to sit through an old "Twlight Zone" episode in -- gasp! -- black and white!

I actually thought it was decent. It was scary to me, but I loved the mystery surrounding the sisters for the first half of the show. It was intriguing. But after the "monster" showed up, I was like "ehh".

The very ending was a good idea, though. Who really likes a happy ending anyway?

I meant, "It wasn't scary to me"

The inevitable "guy in the rubber suit" moment... ruins a lot of flicks.
