Dollhouse

I’m not sure what it is, but I’m not that geeked up over Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”.... okay, I hate the name. You’re gonna lose a sizable chunk of potential audience right out the gate.

I'm not a Joss Whedon fan either. Never watched more than 2 minutes of Buffy before I turned it off. And, I agree, "Dollhouse" is a horrid name for a tv show.

I found a single clip online somewhere with Eliza D. and Tahmoh P. It made absolutely no sense, and the acting was just, well, not that great.

There are many worshippers of the Whedon, so I'm guessing they will be gushing over this no matter how it turns out. I'll give the pilot a shot, but Eliza D. kinda bugs me. Not sure what it is....she appears to be young, but her face make her look 45 at times.

Don't get me wrong, I’m one of those Whedon worshippers, but I’ve come to realize that his work has a limited appeal.

Ha! That's hilarious. Yes, limited appeal is right...but boy are the fans rabid ones. Say something against Buffy or Angel, and you're in trouble.

Like I said, I'm willing to give the pliot a shot, but I think I'll probably like the new JJ Abrams "Fringe" better than "Dollhouse." Just a guess.

Whedon is the better writer, but Abrams has -- this might be an ugly term for some -- superior commercial instincts. I like Dushku and all, but nobody outside the Whedon fanverse cares that she's doing a TV series. To be fair, "Fringe" looks like Abrams was digging around in Chris Carter's backyard, so they both have a little something to prove.
